A good friend of mine is getting married in a couple of months and I'll be helping out at the wedding. To make things a little easier on the wedding day, she requested her bridesmaids to be in blush dresses and helpers to be dressed in lighter shades of blue. Blue is such a popular colour choice at weddings thus, I am not surprised that she chose blush and blue to be her wedding colours. In fact during the earlier part of the year, Pantone paired Rose Quartz and Serenity together as the Pantone colours of the year. I really love the pairing and am excited whenever I see designs utilising these colours together. As much as I am attracted to pastel colours, I don't exactly wear them. Pastel for kitchenware and paintings are fine but pastel clothes are way too feminine for my liking. And so, my hunt for a slightly edgier shade of blue began. When I finally matched the shade of Serenity to the actual colour, I didn't think I would be this attracted to it! I had a blast searching for Serenity coloured items that I think I should get back on track to hunt for that perfect Serenity dress for the wedding. 1 // WoonHung Circus/Small Disc Wood Adjustable Necklace I love the look of this necklace! I especially love how it is made from natural and renewable materials and crafted by talented craftspeople in Cebu, Philippines. This necklace can take you through a formal work day and straight for some after work party! Versatile necklaces are the best! 2 // J.Crew Underwire One-Piece Swimsuit Swimsuits are not the most flattering piece of garment so the best choice for me is definitely a one-piece rather than a bikini. J.Crew has the most swoon-worthy swimsuits that are so good to look at and functional at the same time. And by functional, I mean, a good support system - underwire is a must. 3 // Kitchen Element Patterned Wallpaper Some people have a thing for vintage floor tiles and some are obsessed with wallpapers. I love how wallpapers can brighten and liven up a room instantaneously. Can you picture this wallpaper against a clean white kitchen with a bowl of freshly picked lemons on a countertop? 4 // Blue Lagoon, Iceland I have always wanted to visit Iceland. I can just imagine myself standing in front of the clearest of blue waters and the purest white mountains. The Blue Lagoon sounds almost like a beautiful dream to me and I am terribly envious of my friends and family who have basked in all its beauty. 5 // Smeg Refrigerator
Would you choose a blue refrigerator for your kitchen? Black, white and stainless steel are the usual colour choices for most Singaporean households and I don't remember seeing any flaming red or sunshine yellow fridges. As for me, I would really like to have this blue beauty in my future kitchen! 6 // Rose Quartz and Serenity Textured Painting I love love love how the strokes and texture complements the perfect blend of soft and dark colours on this painting. This picture was found on Pinterest but unfortunately, I can't find the artist or the name of this painting. If anyone reading this knows the creator behind this fabulous painting, do drop me a message so that I can give the artist the due credit! 7 // Kabinshop Round Ceramic Bowl Handmade ceramic bowls are my weakness and especially when they are in a lovely shade of blue. I am a ceramic bowl hoarder/collector and would love to include this in my collection! Yay to more beautiful bowls and jewelry bowls! 8 // Salen Iron Pendant Light I don't know how to appreciate lights and lamp shades but this pendant light has all my attention! While browsing the lights and dining section in Ikea, I noticed how pendant lights can add a touch of cosiness to the table without compromising on light quality during meal times. Perhaps it is time I observe how designers pair lights to enhance stunning interior designs! - How do you feel about Serenity blue? Yay or Nay? :) x Min

It is summer time for most countries in the world and in Singapore, every day is a summer day. It is hot all year round. Living near the equator means we get tons of sunshine and rain, with temperatures ranging from 27 degree celsius to a steaming 34 degree celsius on extreme days. Global warming is real and we are feeling it! I need a glass of lemonade now! Last summer, I did a Hot Hue post on Sunshine Yellow and this summer is no different. I am attracted to everything yellow all over again! It could be the intense heat that is drawing my attention to yellow. Buttercup is a lovely shade of yellow though it is no where as loud as sunshine yellow. Don't you just love how sweet sounding the name is? Also, buttercup is one of this year's Pantone colours! I wish I was by the pool now, with a Piña Colada in one hand and a book in the other. Ahh... that sounds like a fantastic life! 1 // Isota Piccola Wristlet I am not a fan of wristlets but this just stole my heart! If you are not crazy about yellow, there are many other colours to choose from. The all white bag is absolutely gorgeous too! If you're a fan of having matchy items in your handbag, you'll be pleased to know that this wristlet comes with a matching hobo bag! 2 // Parmesan Garlic Grilled Corn Corn is my all time favourite vegetable/fruit and I can't get enough of it. This dish sounds extremely decadent on a hot sunny day and all I want to do now is to sink my teeth into it. Grated parmesan, crushed garlic, juicy corn on the cob fresh off the grill. Not forgetting a generous squeeze of lime. Mmm, my kitchen will smell so good! 3 // Something Bleu Bow-Topped Slingback Heels Slingback heels are an absolute delight to my feet because I find them so comfortable! I have awkward feet and slingbacks are my go-to heels. This pair of heels is so popular that all sizes have been completely wiped out. Someone, please bring them back to the store for me! 4 // Loewe Elephant Purse This may be a men's purse but I can't get over how cute it is! Just look at the elephant's beady eyes! Looking at this purse reminds me of towel origamis that I often see at hotels and resorts. I am pretty sure this will be a cute addition to any quirky purse collection! 5 // Vintage Salt and Pepper Shakers
I have a friend who collects salt and pepper shakers, so I am always on the lookout for cute and creative shakers for her. This pair of shakers will definitely add a pop of colour and sunshine to any dining table, and I just love the details on the shakers! Look at the juicy pulp! 6 // Pineapple Cup Craft When the heat is melting away every bit of my sanity, all I want is an ice cold drink. Preferably served in a nice looking cup/glass/mug. This cup craft is so easy to put together and I feel refreshed just by looking at it! I am going to hunt for yellow paper cups now. 7 // Blue Wooden Table and a Bowl Lemons This is supposed to be a recipe for Lemon Fritter-sticks and Nutmeg Pudding, but I just can't stop staring at the colours in this picture. I'm loving the colour contrast between the dark blue table top and bright lemons. What a simple and stunning shot! 8 // Hand Painted Yellow Poppy Scarf Shawls and scarfs are perfect for Singapore's climate. Sometimes it gets too chilly after a heavy rain, and often, it gets too hot. I like scarfs because it adds depth to my outfits and keeps me warm or cool, depending on how I wrap it around my neck. I especially love how cheery the yellow is on this scarf! - How will you add a pop of buttercup and sunshine to your life? :) x Min (All images taken from the product sources. Links provided in the description.) I have been hit by the pink monster. For a while now, we have been consistently busy with various wedding preparations for Min and our other close friends. It seems like everyone is getting married this year! Over in our studio, we have also been knee-deep with custom wedding suite designs and wedding styling for clients. In the past few months, I have used blush and other shades of pink way too much for a ton of design work, and I feel like I may get pink fatigue pretty soon. But, alas! Before I swear off pretty shades of pink for life, I am still hopelessly captivated by the subtlety and sheer femininity of the colour. So, what do we do when we are hooked to a particular shade? We write a Hot Hue post about it. Haha! I have curated eight gorgeous blush-toned items that I am madly in love with. Who knows, it may just bring you over to the light side! 1 // Needle & Thread Voluminous Tulle Embellished Maxi Dress Kickstarting the first two blush picks with Min in mind! We have been searching for dresses for her pre-wedding photoshoot and I think this would look stunning on her! The bead-embellishment bodice oomphs up the casual vibe, while the floaty tulle skirt will go perfectly with her theme! 2 // Lili Headband This is so pretty and would look great with the maxi dress above! A slightly tousled hairstyle will add ease to this headband and I think the whole outfit will look SO good in the photos. And on Min, of course! Now, we just need to get her up on the plane and away from sweaty Singapore for her shoot! 3 // ASOS Hit The Jackpot Platform Heeled Sandals I have been searching for nude or blush heels to replace my dying Melissa nude pumps. Whenever I wear heels, I go AHSP (as high as possible) because my boyfriend is a walking lamppost. This is 6" high and I am loving the chunky heel! 4 // Rebecca Minkoff Raw Crystal Pave Stud Everyone needs grown-up earrings in their collection and this Rebecca Minkoff stud earrings had my heart at first sight. I love rose quartz and this is some spectacular prismatic magic going on! 5 // Gentle Monster Chi Chi Sunglasses
I adore sunnies and always carry a pair in my bag wherever I go. Sun damage is real, darlings. The floral print on this pair of sunglasses is so amazing and I just love the mod vibe! I really need to get this! 6 // Nordstrom Modal Silk Blend Scarf in Pink Bride Combo This silk blend scarf looks perfect for the humidity in Singapore. Just fold this gorgeous scarf nicely into a small pouch and toss it into your bag for moments when you get too cold in air-conditioning. Ah, I can almost feel how soft and lightweight it would be! 7 // Rosella Mural by Anewall Gosh, have you seen a prettier wallpaper? This mural will add a vintage feminine statement to any room. Even though it is not to my personal interior taste, I still very much appreciate how Anthropologie styled this shot with the intricate chandelier and plush daybed. So dainty! 8 // Ban.do Work It Out Exercise Mat After This We're Getting Pizza Okay, this is definitely not blush-coloured but it is so cute that I had to put it in this post! Ban.do has the cheekiest items and this exercise mat certainly speaks to me. This would be great but at the same time, terrible reminder throughout pilates and yoga! - Do you like the shade, blush? <3 Jia (All images taken from the product sources. Links provided in the description.) Woah, it has been some time since our last Hot Hue post! With Min's wedding on the horizon and us pouring over bridal magazines and websites, we have been enamoured once again by the purest of colour, white. There is just something so addictive about the colour. With the temperatures rising in our homeland, crisp and fresh white makes us feel less irritated and more serene. Whenever we start feeling sticky and warm due to the impossible humidity, we always get the urge to touch everything and anything that boasts of the clean and cool hue, hoping that its lightness will give us some relief. Colour therapy works in the funniest ways. After almost a year(!) since our first ever Hot Hue post was published, we revisit one of our all-time favourite colours again and show you some white-coloured items we have been loving and lusting over. Min's Picks 1 // Minna Parikka White Leather Bunny Trainers Aww! These trainers are way too adorable. Cute bunny ears and pink fluffy tail on a pair of trainers will totally complete my life right now. Everyone needs a pair of cute trainers in their lives to perk up their day, so how can anyone say no to them? 2 // Kaico Japanese Enamel Kettle I have absolutely no use for this kettle but I think I can come up with a reason why I need it. Its simple yet stylish design will make brewing my morning coffee (or tea) additionally joyous just by looking at it. Yay! 3 // Jellycat Candy Stripe Bunny My friends know me as a bunny toy hoarder. Each Jellycat bunny is soft and cuddly and I love it to death. I think it is time for me to get a new Jellycat bunny (with candy stripe ears, no less) to join the family. 4 // Conrad Jon Godly “Hell 24” Painting When Jia and I decided on white as our Hot Hue colour, a full white painting with white blotches of oil paint/thick acrylic immediately came to mind. I have been looking at interior ideas for quite some time now and I think a full white painting for my future home will be a stunning investment piece. Love it. Jia's Picks
5 // Loeffler Randall Perforated Mini Industry Bucket Bag White bags are one of my greatest weaknesses, They are just so pretty and even though they are a pain in the arse to maintain, I can't get enough of them. This Loeffler Randall bag is right up my alley with the perforated leather and tassels. 6 // Everlane The Leather Street Shoe Omg, this was love at first sight. My heart instantly went pitter-patter pitter-patter when I chanced upon these leather darlings. It really is the epitome of luxurious+comfort+chic and is so perfect for daily wear. I would wear this with everything. 7 // Anthropologie Handcarved Lotus Bed Another love at first sight find. I will march straight down to Anthropologie the very minute I need a new bed frame. I love how the carvings are so intricate, yet the bed does not look overly dainty due to the slightly raw finish. It is GORGEOUS! 8 // Anthropologie Ruffled Rim Side Plate I have a thing for dinnerware. In my wildest dream, I have a storage room filled with one-of-a-kind plates and bowls. In reality, I would really love a kitchen filled with mismatching dinnerware. I love this side plate (and the whole set actually!) because it looks like a very modern and artisan version of traditional fine bone china crockery. It is elegant yet playful; I really love it! - Have you been drawn to any white-coloured items lately? Share your finds with us! :) With Love, Min+Jia. (All images taken from the product sources.
