If you have been following us on Instagram, you may have noticed our salad lunches. To combat the harmful effects of snacking, late nights and slowing metabolism, we have decided to adopt healthier eating habits that will eventually become a lifestyle habit for us. Eating a lighter and healthier lunch also means increased work productivity because food coma exists. It is so real. We shall not belittle the impact of food coma and the effectiveness of our digestive systems! This month, we have been actively searching for healthy, tasty, easy and quick to put together lunches. Many recipes on Pinterest left us salivating in front of the computer, even after we had a big lunch. It wasn't easy for us to pick out six drool-worthy and hunger-inducing recipes that is good for lunch or dinner. We want to feature everything! Instead of the usual Monthly Pinspiration, we thought of putting together a list of pins that we wished could instantly materialise into real food for us to devour. Here are our top picks this month. Let's stop drooling and start cooking! Min: Spicy shrimp with cauliflower mash and garlic kale is my kind of happiness on a plate. I am so attracted to the colours of the shrimps and the creaminess of the cauliflower mash. Pure goodness on a plate. And I love how this is a perfect recipe for a low carb diet! Score. Min: I love mushrooms and broccolini to death. Anything with mushrooms or broccoli or broccolini often taste superb to me. When I saw this pin, my heart rate picked up and I really wanted to eat it. Pronto. But I will tweak the recipe a wee bit, because I am not crazy about teriyaki sauce. Perhaps I can exclude honey and replace it with sesame oil instead. Min: Though I am not a big fan of ice cream, I simply can't take my eyes off this tub of blueish goodness. It could be the colours that drew me to it or the fact that this tub contains wild blueberries and coconut milk. I can only imagine how amazing it will taste. I would really love a scoop or two right now. Jia: Swoon. Have you seen a meal as perfect as this? Grilled salmon, avocado and a lentil salad. Those are very tasty ingredients lying next to each other. I have been trying to up my lentils game since last year and I really need to try this out! Jia: Now, doesn't this look like the ultimate refreshing salad? I can almost taste the lightness and fresh sweetness of the cucumber and mint. Whenever the weather is unbearably hot outside - which, let's face it, is almost every day - I always crave for something cold, light, and crunchy. This looks like an amazing salad for a hot hot day. Jia: I have been trying to get onto the oatmeal bandwagon for the last couple of years. I was totally on board for a while but grew tired of it pretty quickly. This bowl of runny egg + miso butter + oaty goodness is making me want to buy a bag of oatmeals right now! Savoury oatmeals are just heavenly. I am adding this to my to-cook list for next week! The above salad is what we made and ate for lunch last week. We are currently so obsessed with fresh baby bok choy as our main salad base. We love how sweet, light and crunchy it is. We just can't get enough of it!
- What are your favourite food pins? Do you have any interesting salad combinations to share? Let us know! :) With Love, Min+Jia.

Sunday Stickies is a column where we reflect on the past week and pen those thoughts down on sticky pads. Expect notes to ourselves and others, advice, reminders for the week ahead, quotes, and anything random actually. We decided to take things slow in the office this week before the whirlwind of activities hit us in July. A little rest can go a long, long way. We feel that it is important to add in pockets of rest in our busy schedule to ensure we don't burn out in the long run. Currently, July is looking very busy in comparison to the first half of the year and we are excited to participate in art markets after a month of hiatus. Do keep a lookout for our next few pop-up events! Singapore's weather has been real good for the past couple of days and we are hoping the cool weather will stay with us for a while more. Cool weather makes everything better, right? Because of the nice weather, we opened the windows for fresh cool air more often this week and we caught a stunning sunset on Thursday! What a beautiful end to a rather slow working day! Min: My love for junk food is real and this is my confession. We have two containers of salted egg chips and fish skin in the office and I can't stop looking at it. While happiness is a bowl of tasty and hearty salad, true happiness also comes in the form of chips. This is my kind of balance in life. I am a true-blue snacker and I have tried replacing my snack box with blueberries, nuts, and granola but that didn't stop me from binging on unhealthy snacks. My other crazy junk food addiction is instant noodles. I have to actively walk away from the instant noodle aisle in a grocery store. Whenever my neighbours cook instant noodles, my brain, nose, and stomach goes crazy. Trust me, when I say I have to fight my cravings. I love the idea of having a good salad for lunch because it seems to curb my unhealthy salt cravings. I think it is all in my mind. I can do this! Jia: Whoop, it has been an exciting week for me in both good and bad ways. My days were carried by an undercurrent of drowsiness due to staying up till the wee hours of the morning for the UEFA Euro matches. Yes, along with my boyfriend, we belong to the clique of crazy people who stays up to watch the live football matches at midnight and 3am in the morning. My sleepiness also emphasised the fact that my heydays of being able to function properly without sleep is pretty much over. I am getting old. Face the truth, Jia!
The lack of sleep is also disrupting the recovery of my facial skin which, due to negligence, is currently going insane. Allergies are the worst, especially those that are self-inflicted. What am I allergic to? Tea tree oil. I was so determined to try my sister’s newest tea tree oil facial wash that I convinced myself that a few seconds of contact with it wouldn’t affect me. NOPE. How bad was my allergic reaction? Let’s just say that my sister is convinced that my skin is scarred for life and Min has her hawk eye on me to ensure that I don’t scratch my face. Yikes. - How was your week? :) With Love, Min+Jia. After a week of looking at the ocean and mountains in Cape Town, my boyfriend and I took a short flight to Johannesburg. Joburg has a different vibe from Cape Town - it is, after all the largest city in South Africa. Since our return, many friends and family members have been asking us about the general safety and security of South Africa. Honestly, we are aware that South Africa does not have a good reputation when it comes to safety. But even the safest place on earth can be dangerous, right? Just be sure to take the usual precautions and everything should be fine!
South Africans, based on my observations, are usually cautious and curious. They tend to look intimidating but they are mostly warm and friendly when the ice is broken. A cashier at a grocery store asked me to share my recipe after she saw the produce I bought. We spent 20 minutes talking and laughing and I gained a free Afrikaans language lesson! Though I was the only Asian lady in a sea of South Africans, I didn't feel even the least bit intimidated. Instead, I felt safe. I love how travelling can change a person's perspective. I could go on and on about my trip to South Africa because I have too many good stories to share. My heart is warm and fuzzy, and I'm just beyond glad that my dream destination turned out to be a complete dream come true. Warning: The post contains a lot of squeal-worthy pictures! Ever since we moved to our new home here, we have yet to blog about the many freebies available for download; so I thought it was time to do a round-up of what's new in the Downloads section! Over the past months, Min and I have been regularly updating the Downloads section of our website with techie wallpapers that were designed with the spring and summer seasons in mind. The first two wallpapers below are a blend of minimalistic clean lines and cheery floral watercolours, created in such a way that you can "do florals" with some restrain. If you ever looked at your refreshing fruity beverage on a hot day and wondered what it would be like to swim in a huge pool of yumminess, trust me, you are not alone. The last two wallpapers were concocted over many humid hazy days and reflect our dreams of swimming in pools filled with lemonade and watermelon smoothie. Doesn't that sound strangely appealing? These wallpapers are available in three sizes. A HD quality wallpaper that is excellent for bigger screens, a slim yet sharp wallpaper perfect for 13" screens, and a parallax wallpaper for your mobile phone and tablets. To download, just head to the Downloads section and choose your preferred size! Asides from tech wallpapers, we also have free and fun printables available for download. We update the Downloads section pretty frequently with new stuff, so do remember to check back every now and then!
- Tell me - what kind of free downloads would you like next? <3 Jia Sunday Stickies is a column where we reflect on the past week and pen those thoughts down on sticky pads. Expect notes to ourselves and others, advice, reminders for the week ahead, quotes, and anything random actually. Happy Father's Day, pops! We love you for being the first macho man of our lives! And... we are on a roll. This has been another successful and productive week for us. We decided that we both needed to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. And just like that, we packed our bags and went away to somewhere quiet to plan for the second half of 2016. The second half of the year always excites us greatly because Christmas is part of the plan. Woohoo, we can't wait for Christmas already! We are thankful for this opportunity to rest, relax, plan and brainstorm without much distractions from the outside world. As a result, we were extremely productive and we accomplished a lot within 3 days. Thank God for the many ideas that He had given us, and we can't wait to get started on our new plans! We can do this. Let's go! Min: Thanks to Jia, I finally took the plunge and went to a dog adoption drive today. I have been on an emotional roller coaster ride for some time now because I am not sure if I am ready for a new dog. But I really want a doggy companion. Sigh, indecisiveness always get the better of me. When I got to the adoption drive, I was greeted with the familiar scent of freshly shampooed dogs, happy tails and wide doggy grins. I was in a doggy wonderland. I love Mongrels and I absolutely adore black dogs. My beloved Junior was a black Mongrel and he had the best doggy temperament ever. I will never understand why people would shun black dogs or stray dogs even. A black dog/Mongrel is just like any other dog; loyal, faithful and the best damn thing in the world. My heart aches for black dogs and Mongrels that get left behind in dog shelters just because of their colour and breed. If I could, I would save them all and we would all live happily ever after. Would you give one of these dogs a chance to be your best friend? :') Jia: This week was a strange one. It felt really tiring and relaxing at the same time with a whole lot of activities going on throughout the seven days. From our brainstorming sessions and retreat for work to indulging in awesome food and beer to waking up at unearthly hours for UEFA Euro matches combined with a whole lot of going-out, I am very pooped but in great spirits!
Right at this instance while I am typing this, I am still dying from cuteness overload. Min and I (along with our boyfriends) dropped by an adoption drive and it was adorable doggies galore! We were individually drawn to different dogs and spent a good amount of our Sunday afternoon just patting and staring at them with heart-shaped eyes. I strongly believe in adopting and I really hope SOSD will contact Min soon with adoption details! I can’t wait to have doggie cuddles with Min’s new love. - Have a happy week ahead!
