This post was initially entitled "Behind The Scenes // What We Did In March" but we were so caught up with the launch of our website that we failed to pause and shoot the moments. Thus, Min and I decided that we will collate two months' worth of behind the scenes photographs to create a longer and hopefully, more interesting picture post!
Our last (and only) BTS post was way back in October and since then, we have been getting requests from readers and customers to continue blogging about the insides of a design studio. So, here it is! We are trying our best to remember to document more of our lives and work in photographs to create a series of bi-monthly Behind The Scenes posts. For now, here is a little peek at what we did in the months of March and April (:
The main bulk of our studio time is dedicated to client commissioned projects and developing new designs and products. However, we didn't manage to capture those moments in photos as most of our clients are private and it is obviously rather strange to take photographs during meetings! We will try to shoot more of our development process next time though! (:
Packing and Readying New Stock and Products
About a quarter of our time is usually spent packing and preparing our new products for sale. If you follow us on Instagram or read our Sunday Stickies, you will know that we love to produce stickers whenever we have a pop-up event. A ton of time - usually after our official working hours and with a TV show at the background - is spent cutting stickers in preparation for an event.
A new batch of the Say It With Words Greeting Cards arrived at our studio in March! We had to quickly pack them as they were selling out quickly.
When our art prints are ready at the printers, we usually inspect them closely and return back to the studio to personally trim the ones that were not up to our standards. This is when our eyes get all wonky from staring at the art prints for too long. Haha!
I took the photo on the right while we were packing our newest postcards with the help of a friend from Kisetsu, at The People Avenue's Pop-Up Store. A few weeks ago, we took over the store and moved our studio operations down so that we can get some work done!
We cut, and we cut, and we cut. We have decided to stock our some of our sticker packs at The People's Avenue Pop-Up Store as well. Check them out, if you happen to be in Orchard Road!
Pop-Up Events and Consignment Plans
Taken during a brief respite from the heat during our participation in the Car Free Sunday Art Bazaar at the Civic District. Singapore looks so pretty!
(L) Capturing a customer's purchase at our pop-up booth. We do this whenever there isn't enough time to record the items and we just want to quickly serve our customers!

(L) Setting up shop during our Takeover of The People's Avenue Pop-Up Store. We had to make our presence known! (:
(R) Packing up after our two day stint at the store.
Photoshoots and Video Shoots
We tend to use a lot of props during our photoshoots and things get pretty messy...
We were pretty in love with the Boomerang app the past two months and we thought it would be funny to show you just two of the many terrible outtakes we had.
Behind the Blog Posts
(Top) Testing out self-concocted recipes for an upcoming Eat post.

Miscellaneous Happenings During Work
(L) We snuck a picture during one of our projects for a client.
(R) A lovely customer, Sam, made a card specially for us. Thank you, Sam! You made our entire year with your thoughtfulness and sweetness! (:
March and April were unfortunately, accident-filled months! Our cars broke down twice within the span of a week and we broke the glass panel of a table in the hotel room where we were staying. We wrote about the glass panel incident in a Sunday Stickies post. Sigh!
(Top L) Grabbing some supplies in our local art store.
(Top R) Checking out our dearest friends' handiwork at Liang Court after a pop-up event. We love Operation Overhaul! They are crazy talented and craft the cutest items.
(Bottom L and R) Trooper getting in the way of daily studio work. It is terribly difficult to work on craft projects with him around!
Phew, that turned out to be a longer post than we expected it to be. We will continue to document more interesting moments in our work day (maybe sneak in some development shots), so stay tuned for the next Behind The Scenes post!
Tell us all about your work day (: We'd love to hear your stories!
