Art and craft was arguably my favourite subject in school. My art pouch had the craziest amount of things in it - glue sticks, liquid glue, fancy rulers, random markers, pencils, regular scissors, zigzag scissors, glitter tubes, coloured pens, stickers and the occasional pack of origami papers. I was the true-blue art and craft geek. I would go to school with only one textbook and a whole lot of art supplies. By 15, I had to choose a subject path - Arts or Science. I had zero interest in mathematics, science or whatever, and excelled only in art and design subjects. I was a terrible student. Needless to say, I chose Art as my major and I loved it! My art pouch was updated and upgraded because it was definitely cool to lug around an art toolbox. Goodbye zigzag scissors and hello fancy pen knives, fabric and acrylic paints. Art has been a huge part of my life and it has given me the confidence to express myself in the only way I know how. I hate to admit this but as I got older and busier with my previous jobs, art gradually lost its importance. Well, all that negativity is now water under the bridge because of honey&gazelle Design Studio! Yes, I am glad to have rediscovered my greatest love in life and I'm gonna hold onto art and design for dear life. Fun Ideas is the newest column to our blog where we will share creative how-tos, tips and tricks, as well as DIY projects, Without further ado, here are seven super simple and creative ways to spruce up any room and personalise items that you use in your daily life with honey&gazelle's Pretty Papers Pack: Mellow Motifs and Flashy Florals. Don't worry, you can also try out these projects with any kind of paper you have on hand! 1 // Frame Up Your Favourite Pretty Paper This is definitely the easiest craft tutorial ever. All you need to do is to measure the size of your photo frame, cut the paper to size and frame. Easy peasy! Our Pretty Papers are double-sided, so if you are feeling lazy to cut another piece, simply turn it over and voila, a brand new art piece! Prep more in advance so you have more choices to match your mood! 2 // Frame Your Favourite Pretty Paper AND Use It As A Whiteboard Besides using Pretty Paper as an art print, you can easily turn the frame into a handy whiteboard. Frame up your desired Pretty Paper, grab a whiteboard marker and start scribbling! Use the whiteboard as a To-Do list or write your favourite quote on it. Your whiteboard has never looked prettier! I personally find that it is easier to clean a glass fronted frame than a frame with a plastic fronted protector. 3 // Picnic Napkin Rings and Glass Holder If you love preparing for picnics as much as I do, this idea may just excite you! To create napkin rings, simply cut the Pretty Paper into thick strips, fold your paper napkin and wrap your Pretty Paper strip around it. Tape to seal. Repeat the steps for the glass holder, except that you can add an additional name tag to it as well. Use glue to seal the paper strips. You can decorate the napkin rings with stickers or tie a nice ribbon/twine on them for a more complete and sophisticated look. Thumbs up for amazing-looking picnic wares! 4 // Tray Liners Instead of throwing out old and discoloured trays and containers, you can consider to lining them with pretty sheets of paper. Simply clean the containers and line them with any Pretty Paper. You can also jazz it up further by adding a fresh coat of paint on the exterior. This is an effortless project to give your old wares a new lease of life. 5 // File Covers Use Pretty Papers to doll up your belongings or to jazz up any old files by using the papers as covers. A file cover will protect the contents of your file and also beautify boring or plain looking files! All you need to do is slot your favourite paper at the front and back of your clear file. 6 // Mobile Phone Covers Here is a super easy way to get a brand-new looking mobile phone case in a couple of minutes. If you have a plain and clear mobile phone cover lying around, this is a neat trick that you can try out. Measure the dimensions of the phone cover and cut the paper accordingly. Remember to cut out the hole for the phone's camera at the back. Now, just slot the paper behind your phone and into the cover. There you go, you got yourself a gorgeous phone cover! 7 // Passport Covers Hands up, if you love to travel, and especially if you love to use passport covers to house your passport and tickets. Find a clear book folder - the smallest size would be the best fit - at your local stationery or craft store and slot your favourite paper together with your passport into the clear folder. As Pretty Papers are double-sided, you will be able to see a complementary lovely design on the inside of your passport cover! Now, you have a personalised passport cover that is easy to switch out and rotate! - Paper is an extremely versatile tool and a real joy to work with. What would you do with Pretty Papers?
